Near the centre of New Delhi, India. About 1990.

He repairs shoes and sandals - and handbags, and even the zip in your trousers. He's a real expert. He doesn't ask any more from foreign tourists than he does from locals, but he's very grateful if you give him too much and tell him to keep the change.

He's been plying his trade in the same spot, within a few yards, for at least fifteen years to my knowledge.

This is such a great picture! Its got such a raw, gritty feel to it, especially the background and the piles of leather, rubber strewn around him and yet he looks so..content. The human element has been captured so well....well done Coshipi!

The man could be in a cigarette ad (if they still allowed it)! Such enjoyment.....
I love how real this image is...it makes me appreciate what I have. I am a big fan of gritty, rustic imagry...along with people....this image really captures all of that and tells a story. It's a really nice piece of photojournalism...but it can also be concocted into many other tales. Nice work!
Thank you! Sorry I somehow didn't notice your comment until now :(
Great job! Very interesting photo that obviously has its spirit and subject. It's a picture for :+fav:
