Not a knock-off, but manufactured by Tata under licence from Mercedes - just as the Hindustan Ambassador, for many years just about the only car you could get in India, was an Austin Cambridge manufactured under licence.
Well, for Indians of any religion - and not particularly for Hindus living in Canada, the US, or the UK, unless they're lucky enough to visit India frequently.
Your pictures of Israel are likewise appreciated - probably common enough scenes for you, but fascinating for non-Israelis. I'm looking forward to seeing your Moscow photos - I hope you got some! I see quite a few photos of Russia on here, but your view might be different, seeing things from an Israeli perspective.
As I've said yesturday in my Journal, I'm planning to put here some Moscow photos, but I can't say that I have a lot of them. Several shots were made especially for DA - classic views of the Moscow Kremlin and so on. Several were made in a very interesting park. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't very friendly, and not always I have enough time. Anyway, I'll scan my films tomorrow and you can see some Moscow from me
You know, old Moscow - it's not an old Jerusalem, and I can't take it with the same feelings. Though the old Moscow is much better than the new Moscow. Sometimes they try to restore old buildings, but sometimes they just knock them down and build something new. I saw how they knock down a huge hotel "Moscow" that stands just in front of the Kremlin! It wasn't a very beautiful building, but it was a some sort of an architecture memorial of the Stalin period. Now they want to build there a modern hotel with underground 10-floor parking!!!! I understand that this's very important for such a huge town like Moscow, for such a tourist "Mecca", but Moscow begins to look like New-York. It's not the best way, I think. People don't want Roma, Venice, Prague or London look like New-York - there's some special spirit in old Europe. Moscow looses it day by day.

And the older and more interesting parts of town aren't safe, or they've been knocked down?
