Kvivik is on the island of Streymoy - the same island as Tórshavn. The headland on the left of the photo is also part of Streymoy, but all the other bits of land are different islands. From the left: Streymoy, Hestur (the Horse), Sandoy, Koltur (the Colt), and Vágar. Between Koltur and Vágar it's the open Atlantic.
Vágar has the only airport in the Faroes - it's the only island with a big enough flat patch of land!
I'd have loved to have stopped and looked at this village properly, but this view from the road past it is all I got.
I visited this part of the Faroe Islands with my parents, in their car, on their retirement "splurge" holiday on which I was a spare driver. A comment on holidaying with my parents from one of my nieces is apposite: "That looks like an interesting castle! Didn't it... "
I went back to the Faroes the following year on my own, for a proper look...didn't make it back to Iceland for twenty years, and still haven't made it back to Greenland.
My "proper look" never got as far as Kvivik, though.
If I disliked your work, I wouldn't be viewing it! I'm not especially interested in some of it - but some is very much to my taste. People vary, vive les differences!
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

It's not so very far from Tórshavn though, which although it's only small, is very active. After that, it's an awful long way to anywhere.
